As a modern home builder, we regularly seek out the most up-to-date technology systems for our construction projects. As an eco-friendly builder, it is also our aim to find efficient and sustainable solutions to help our clients and the planet.

SMART Home System

In each of our new homes, homeowners have the convenience of controlling all systems, be that electric, HVAC, appliances, and more using a SMART home system. This system allows homeowners to manage systems remotely from a connected smartphone or tablet via the internet. Smart home technology provides homeowners with convenience and costs savings.

In addition to the main SMART home system, here are a few other ways we try to keep green practices in place:

Recycle

As you can imagine, there are a ton of materials needed to build a home- literally! The city of Austin is home to a number of recycling programs for builders and as part of the city’s Zero Waste goal. We adhere to the Construction and Demolition Recycling Ordinance for both tear-downs and new builds.

Reuse

When we move from phase to phase on a build, every effort is made to save and reuse any materials leftover, should they fit the scope of other projects. This could be wood flooring, granite countertops, marble slabs, wood trim, and more.

Upcycle

If trees are removed from a property, oftentimes we will harvest them for future projects, reclaimed furniture, or mulch.

Reduce Impact

Some other ways we look to help the environment include utilizing LED lighting whenever possible, recommending solar technology, and also installing circulating water systems to help reduce water waste.

Our goal is to provide a beautiful custom home for our clients, without compromising the environment in the process. From time to time we also may:

  • Install eco-friendly insulation
  • Opt for efficient faucet fixtures
  • Choose dual-flush toilets
  • Install energy-saving appliances
  • Plant native greenery or drought-resistant plants
  • Harness rainwater for watering

If you’re interested in building a custom home in the future, consider some of these sustainable solutions.

Building an eco-friendly home can have many advantages for both homeowners, the community, and the environment.
